Me and my American friend discuss Marxism and social democracy.

This discussion opened my eyes more to Marx as my friend is a self identified Marxist.

You cannot be a serious political thinker, especially one on the left, and not discuss Karl Marx. It is impossible.

I still do not call myself a Marxist but he argues Marx was a democratic socialist and denounces the regimes of Stalin, Mao, Castro etc. – which, to me, is a compelling argument I can get behind.
